Sound Healing in Brighton

Let Vibration Do What Words Cannot

Your mind won’t stop.

You’ve tried meditation apps, breathing exercises, and journaling before bed, but the thoughts keep looping. The tension keeps building. The fatigue sits deeper than sleep can reach.

What if the thing that finally quiets your mind isn’t something you do, but something you receive?

Sound healing works differently to anything you’ve tried before. You don’t have to focus. You don’t have to clear your mind. You don’t have to do anything at all. You simply lie down, close your eyes, and let the vibrations do the work, moving through your body at a cellular level, releasing tension you didn’t know you were carrying, and guiding your nervous system into a state of deep, effortless rest.

This isn’t background music. This is therapeutic sound, carefully selected frequencies and instruments played with intention, precision, and years of experience.

I’m Mojave Sky Hawk, and I’ve been a musician my entire life. Sound isn’t just something I practise, it’s the language I understand most deeply. And I use it to help people in Brighton, Peacehaven, and
across East Sussex, find the stillness, clarity, and healing that modern life has stolen from them.

Why Sound Healing Works: The Science and the Soul

Sound healing isn’t new-age speculation. It’s rooted in physics.

Every cell in your body vibrates at a specific frequency. When you’re stressed, in pain, or emotionally depleted, those frequencies fall out of harmony, like an orchestra playing out of tune. Sound healing uses resonance and entrainment to bring those frequencies back into alignment.

Here’s what happens during a session:

  • Your brainwaves shift. The instruments guide your brain from beta (active thinking) to alpha and theta states (deep relaxation, meditation, and healing). This is the same state experienced in deep meditation, but you reach it effortlessly.
  • Your nervous system resets. Sound vibrations activate the parasympathetic nervous system (your body’s “rest and repair” mode), lowering cortisol and heart rate.
  • Tension releases physically. Vibrations travel through body tissue, loosening muscular holding patterns and releasing stored stress.
  • Emotional blocks surface and clear. Many clients experience spontaneous emotional release, tears, laughter, or a profound sense of lightness as stuck energy moves.

This is why sound healing often reaches places that talk therapy, massage, or meditation alone cannot. It bypasses the analytical mind entirely and speaks directly to the body.

Your Practitioner: A Musician’s Approach to Healing

I’m not someone who picked up a singing bowl at a weekend workshop. Music has been my life, and sound healing is where my musicianship meets my calling as a healer.

What sets my sound healing apart:

  • Lifelong musician with a deep understanding of frequency, rhythm, harmony, and resonance
  • Trained sound healing practitioner using both ancient shamanic instruments and modern vibrational tools
  • Multi-instrumentalist: I play and integrate crystal singing bowls, gongs, handpan, shamanic drums, native flutes, rattles, chimes, and traditional healing chakapa
  • Shamanic practitioner: My sound work is infused with ceremonial intention, not just technique
  • Experience in luxury retreat settings: I brought sound healing to private clients, like Marissa Peer and retreat centres, such as Six Senses and Casa Tuya, in Ibiza before returning to the UK
  • Based in Peacehaven, Brighton: offering private sessions, public events, and bespoke experiences across East Sussex and the South Coast

Every session I hold is different. I read the energy of the person or group and intuitively select the instruments, frequencies, and rhythms that will serve the deepest healing. No two sound baths are ever the same.

Sound Healing Instruments: What You’ll Experience

Each instrument I use carries its own healing signature. Here’s what you can expect to hear, feel, and experience:

Crystal Singing Bowls

Crystal Singing Bowls: Experience the beautiful clarity and soothing harmonics of our Crystal Singing Bowls. Made from the highest quality quartz, these bowls emit a pure, penetrating sound that resonates with the body’s crystalline structures. The vibrations produced by these exquisite bowls are not just heard but deeply felt, promoting healing from within and connecting you to a state of higher consciousness.

Gongs

The Gong’s rich tapestry of sounds encompasses a wide range of frequencies, from deep, grounding tones to high, celestial notes. This sonic diversity makes the Gong an incredibly effective tool for holistic healing, capable of touching every part of the being. Myf Gong sessions are designed to take you on a journey through sound, where each wave and vibration brings you closer to your inner self and the universe’s rhythmic harmony.

Shamanic Drumming

Feel the grounding and heart-beating rhythms of shamanic drumming, a practice that connects us to the earth and our own inner rhythm. Drumming can induce a meditative state, allowing for deeper healing and spiritual exploration.

Handpan Harmonies

The handpan provides a celestial layer to our sessions, with its soothing melodies and harmonics that promote relaxation and mental clarity. Its captivating sound can transport you to a state of serenity and peace.

Native Flutes and Rattles

Experience the soul-stirring melodies of native flutes and the cleansing vibrations of rattles. These instruments are integral to many healing traditions and are revered for their ability to open the heart and heal emotional wounds.

Rattles provide cleansing, clearing vibrations that shift stagnant energy and refresh your field. Together, they add a deeply organic, earthy dimension to every session.

Chimes & Healing Chakapa

Delicate chimes provide high-frequency cleansing, while the traditional healing chakapa (a bundle of dried leaves used in South American shamanic traditions) creates a gentle rustling vibration that clears and soothes the energy body.

This is my most intimate and powerful offering. In a private session, I work directly with your energy, intuitively selecting instruments and frequencies based on what your body needs.

Expect profound relaxation,
emotional release, and a level of stillness you may never have experienced before.

Private sessions can also be combined with other modalities, such as Reiki energy healing, cacao ceremony, or gentle massage, for a truly bespoke healing experience.

What to Expect at a Sound Healing Session

Before your session:
Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing. Avoid heavy meals or caffeine for at least an hour before. Come with an open mind, no experience necessary.

During your session:
You’ll lie comfortably on a mat or treatment bed with blankets and an eye mask (provided). I’ll begin playing, starting gently and building through layers of sound. You don’t need to do anything. Simply breathe, relax, and allow the vibrations to move through you. Most people enter a deeply relaxed state within minutes.

Common experiences during sound healing:

  • Deep physical relaxation and heaviness in the limbs
  • Vivid colours, imagery, or dreamlike states
  • Emotional release: tears, laughter, or waves of peace
  • Tingling, warmth, or pulsing sensations in the body
  • A sense of floating or timelessness
  • Falling asleep (this is perfectly fine, healing continues)

After your session:
You’ll feel deeply rested; many clients describe it as feeling like they’ve had the best sleep of their life. You may also feel emotionally lighter, mentally clearer, and more grounded. I’ll provide aftercare guidance and recommend hydration and gentle activity for the rest of the day.

Benefits of Sound Healing: What the Research Shows

Frequently Asked Questions About Sound Healing

Q: Do I need any experience with meditation or sound healing?
A: Not at all. Sound healing is one of the most accessible healing modalities because it requires nothing from you, no focus, no technique, no experience. You simply receive.

Q: Is sound healing safe for everyone?
A: Sound healing is gentle and non-invasive. However, if you have epilepsy, are in the first trimester of pregnancy, have a pacemaker, or have sound-sensitive conditions like severe tinnitus, we don’t recommend attending a sound bath.

Q: What’s the difference between a sound bath and a private sound healing session?
A: A sound bath is a group experience; you lie down in a room with others and receive the sound together. A private session is 1:1, personalised to your specific needs and energy, and is typically more therapeutic and targeted.

Q: How often should I have sound healing?
A: There’s no fixed rule. Some clients come weekly for ongoing stress management. Others come monthly for maintenance. Even a single session can produce noticeable benefits. Choose the rhythm that suits your needs.

Q: Can sound healing be combined with other therapies?
A: Yes, and this is one of my specialities. I offer combination sessions with Reiki energy healing, cacao ceremony, and therapeutic massage for a deeply integrated healing experience.

Q: Where are sessions held?
A: Private sessions take place at my healing sanctuary in Peacehaven, near Brighton, East Sussex. I also hold public sound baths and events at various venues across Brighton, Hove, and the wider Sussex area. I can also bring sound healing to your venue for private events.

Q: What should I bring?
A: Wear comfortable clothing. You may also wish to bring mats, blankets, pillows and even an eye mask if you so wish. You may wish to bring a water bottle for afterwards.

Q: How long does a session last?
A: Private sessions are 60 or 90 minutes. Group sound baths are typically 60–75 minutes. The Handpan Experience can be tailored to your event duration.
